Many Konkan residents work in major cities like Mumbai and Pune. They visit Konkan two to three times a year: during the Holi celebration, the May summer break, and the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. When these individuals return to Mumbai from their village in Konkan, they always bring Vali Judi and other presents.
Valichi Bhaji stays fresh for 4-5 days, and it's a great exercise to share village stories when cleaning the Valichi Judi. Cleaning the Walichi Judi requires breaking it into little pieces and removing the threads on the sides. And again recall the memories while eating. Valichi Judi keeps village memories alive for the next few days.
Here are some suggestions that may be of relevance to you:-
The locally grown, organic Wali tastes sweet, and adding fiery green chili to the bhaji creates a sweet-spicy Bhaji mix. It's a great sweet treat, and the crunchiness of the Wali adds another layer to it.
