Kokani people celebrate Narali Pournima, a full moon day in Shravan Month (Shravan is one of the months in the Marathi Calendar months - Rainy Season). According to the Marathi calendar, it is Shravan Month, with Narali Pournima marking the full moon. Naral means coconut, while Pournima means Full Moon Day.
Narali Pournima is very important in the Konkan region. The Fisherman's community celebrates this day with great enthusiasm and delight. They pray to God Varun & God Samudra. Coconut is presented to God Varun and Samudra during the puja, hence it has a special significance in our life.

Khobryachi Kaapa or Coconut Barfi is a typical sweet dessert prepared on Narali Pournima. It tasted great that day. Khobryachi Kaapa is an excellent example of a minimalist approach to Kokani or Malvani cuisine. We can prepare truly delicious food with only a few materials, a basic method, and a little patience.
Very Simple yet delicious and a Traditional recipe of Coconut and Sugar.
Grate the fresh coconut.
Only grate the white portion only
Turn it once into the mixer grinder.
Take one Kadhai
Add 4 Cups of Fresh Grated Coconut & 3 Cups of Sugar
Start the heat to Kadhai on medium heat & start mixing the mixture till the Sugar gets melted and moisture From all the mixture gets evaporated.
Apply some Tup/Ghee on Wooden platform as a greasing substance and transfer all the mixture on it. Tap it equally on the sides to make it flat and of equal thickness.
Cut the Barfi in a shape as you like and let it cool for 30 to 45 minutes. Leave it at Room Temperature and let it get set and become crisp.
Your Coconut Barfi is Ready to Eat.
